You Could Be Everything

About J.P.

After several years of touring as a guitarist with various Nashville-based artists, J.P. Burr is generating quite a buzz in the Middle Tennessee area as a solo artist and songwriter. Taking inspiration from a plethora of organic-sounding rock, country, americana, and blues, J.P. strives to create classic-sounding music that will stand the test of time. Burr released his debut EP ‘Lonely Like You’ in 2021, followed by a single, “My Condition”, produced by Grammy award-winning producer Steve Fishell. After ending 2022 with performances on Fox & Friends: All American New Year, J.P. retreated to Utica, NY, where he recorded his upcoming project set for release in 2025. It is described as organic, raw, and unapologetically different.

John Patrick Burr grew up in Burns, Tennessee (population: 1,445), just outside of Nashville. Inspired by his grandfather’s interest in guitar playing and the Guitar Hero video game series, he picked up the guitar at age 9. When middle school let out for the day, he spent his afternoons playing in student bands at a local music store. Throughout high school, he gigged around the Nashville area fronting a blues-rock trio and writing music whenever he could. After graduating high school, J.P. began playing guitar for several touring bands and artists, opening for music industry giants like Luke Combs, Dwight Yoakam, Ashley McBryde, and Brantley Gilbert. After establishing a reputation as a reliable live and studio musician in town, he decided to shift the focus back to his own music. Now, with a modern take on classic sounds reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen, Jason Isbell, and Chris Stapleton, J.P. Burr is quickly proving himself a force to be reckoned with.

“J.P. may seem like your quintessential boy-next-door on the outside, but the vehemence in which he tells his stories proves that looks can be deceiving”. - Built In Nashville
